FAQs Luxury Limousine

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Luxury Limousine Service is the Wilkes Barre, Scranton, and North East Pennsylvania’s first choice for all your luxury ground transportation needs. Our diversified fleet of vehicles are the largest and most modern fleet in the area. Take a moment and take a look on our fleet page to see what we have to offer.

Our drivers are our employees, not random independent contractors that can do what ever they want, just like some of our competitors and Uber drivers. We all hear the nightmares that come from those companies. Our drivers have been fully trained, properly screened, drug tested, they have passed a complete road test, and safety certified before they pick up you and your family.

With that in mind here are some frequently asked questions that we get from time to time when customers are shopping for a limousine transportation service.

Q?

What is the pricing of a limousine?

A.

The pricing takes into consideration many factors. How many hours, which vehicles, wait time, drive time, etc. For the most accurate price to be serve your needs call our direct business number at (570) 823-5233. We will gladly discuss pricing and information on the vehicle you are interested in and set up an appointment to come and see our gorgeous vehicles first hand.

Q?

Can we contact someone after business hours?

A.

YES. When you call the direct number to Luxury Limousine Service you will either immediately hear a representative on the line or an emergency paging system offering you a return call in minutes after you leave a message. Your emergency is our emergency.

Q?

On the day of the wedding, how do the groomsmen get to the church?

A.

The guys generally need to arrive at the church 1 hour prior to the ceremony. Depending on the allotted time in the contract, the vehicle can pick up the guys and transport them to the church and then pick up the bride in time to get her to the church on time.

Q?

Do parents ride with the bride to the church?

A.

As you wish. You will need to remember to arrange transportation for them after the church & reception. It is an important day for them as well. Let them enjoy your day without worry!

Q?

Can we bring food?

A.

Yes. We suggest simple foods or dry sandwiches to avoid any accidents with mayo, mustard, or ketchup. Please remember that any spills, stains, or damage are the responsibility of the contract holder.

Q?

Is champagne included with a wedding limo?

A.

It’s strictly based on the package reserved. Please ask upon reserving what complimentary items will be in your vehicle.

Q?

What is in the limousine?

A.

Water and/or soft drinks, glasses, napkins, and ice are provided in our limousine type vehicles.

Q?

Where are the vehicles kept?

A.

All LUXURY LIMOUSINE SERVICE vehicles are kept at our gorgeous 20,000 sq ft indoor facility. The vehicles are kept in a clean warm environment during the winter and kept cool and shaded in the summer months. Our vehicles are NOT kept outside keeping them looking their best in all seasons and for all your occasions.

Q?

How many people can fit in each vehicle?

A.

Schedule a visit to view the vehicles you are interested in. We can help make suggestions for your comfort. For a wedding, semi, or formal event, it is important to take into consideration dresses and people’s sizes which can make a difference in comfort vs. being crammed. Some companies may brag about their vehicles ability to accommodate a large number of people and in the end the vehicle cannot meet expectations on the day of the event.

A.

You will be emailed through our software your chauffeur’s name and cell phone number prior to service.

Q?

Can you price match?

A.

There’s simply no way to match what some of these guys may quote. When you factor in the average per hour costs to operate which include fuel expense, driver pay, insurances, and vehicle maintenance (not to mention purchasing vehicles).

How can you properly run a company, hire excellent chauffeurs, have the proper licensing and coverage, maintain your fleet and compete with the guy who drives all of his own trips (sometimes while you’re in the car with him) because he’s a one man show, doesn’t keep his vehicles up to date, etc? The answer is you cannot.

Q?

Is alcohol allowed?

A.

Yes, if you and your guests are of the legal age (21 years or older) then you may consume alcohol.

Q?

What is required to place a reservation?

A.

You will need to provide a 20% nonrefundable/non transferable deposit, itinerary, and some personal information.

Reservation Steps:
Call our office during business hours (Mon – Sun 9am to 9pm) or create a reservation on our on line reservation system 24 hours a day via our website.

Q?

Do you have insurance?

A.

A VERY important question, Yes all vehicles and employees are fully insured. They are not independent contractors and we are in full control of them. We conduct Pre Hire and Random drug tests on them with continuing education safety training. As far as the vehicles the DOT requires that all vehicles used For Hire carry a policy of 1.5 million in liability or 5 million if over 15 passengers. Many companies skirt around this very serious legal requirement. Therefore, they are operating illegally and putting you and your loved ones at risk. All 15+ passenger vehicles also require a CDL license and a passenger endorsement issued by DOT. Many of our chauffeurs have these specific requirements, which allow us to handle the larger capacity vehicles and reservations. If you find a company with abnormally low rates (more than 10-20% below what we charge), I’d strongly encourage you to ask if they have met these legal requirements to do business. If they have any excuses or story for you other than a yes, please contact us so that we can explain the risks associated and so that we can report them to the proper authorities. They are usually only able to offer such low rates because they don’t have the added expense of the livery insurance, hire practice, safe vehicles, etc. You also must consider the other corners that the company may be cutting such as vehicle maintenance, driver selection, uniform requirements, etc. It’s your trip and your decision, remember the old saying “You always get what you pay for”.

How does this affect me? I’m just comparing rates.

Famous last words. If you were to rent an illegally operated and uninsured vehicle, you are putting your entire group at risk. If there were an accident and someone sustained injuries, their insurance would deny the claim since the vehicle was not insured for livery use. The company would be liable, but if they don’t have the funds to do it right and get the proper licensing and insurance, do you honestly believe they’ll be able to cover a six figure medical bill?

Because you signed the liability form to rent the limousine and you are also responsible for your own due diligence, the responsible party (or irresponsible party in this instance) would also be liable. They can actually take legal action against you and name you in the lawsuit. If you are renting this for your corporation, you are placing your job and the future of your employer at risk.

Additionally, if you have alcohol in the vehicle and the limousine got pulled over, everyone in the vehicle receives an open container ticket and damages their criminal record since only For Hire vehicles with a proper partition are allowed to have alcohol in them.

Attempting to save a few dollars could put your entire life at risk!

Q?

Are there any items I should bring?

A.

You may want to bring your own CDs and DVDs.

Q?

What if we have exceeded our reservation time but want more?

A.

Sometimes you don’t want party to end, No problem you can just tell your driver you would like to extend the reservation and he will notify the office on your behalf and we will charge the card on file for the additional time.

Q?

I have 10 people. Can I rent the 8 passenger limousine since it’s a few dollars cheaper?

A.

Absolutely not! We will not allow more passengers than the vehicle is designed for due to insurance and DOT regulations.

Q?

I just have kids riding. They are small so we should be able to fit more…right?

A.

Wrong! These limitations are set by the manufacturer and recorded on our insurance policy and with DOT. We cannot exceed those figures whether they are huge former NFL players or 5 year old kids. In fact, we recommend that you pick a vehicle larger than the number in your party for comfort. You can definitely have 8 people in an 8 passenger vehicle, but it may feel snug based on the individual sizes of your guests.

Q?

Is smoking allowed?

A.

Luxury Limousine Service’s fleet of vehicles is nonsmoking. Under current Pa. law passengers cannot smoke in public vehicles.
